The Churchie National Emerging Art Exhibition - 2009
The Churchie national emerging art exhibition (known as ‘the churchie’) is among Australia’s leading emerging art awards. Since a group of parents at Brisbane’s Anglican Church Grammar School initiated the formation of the committee – founders, patrons, collectors and art gallery directors - in 1987, ‘the churchie’ has continued to grow and develop with each passing year. This important event on the Australian arts scene aims to recognise and award emerging adult artists, and attracts entrants from across the nation. ‘the churchie’ offers the overall winner a $10,000 cash prize.
